I would like to share part of my recent post that questions the quality of recent economic growth and hope it adds to the discussion.<br /><br />Recently the government muddied the water further on defining growth when they made a minor change in how the GDP is calculated, this will have the effect of making things appear better and giving the impression of even more growth, it will also improve the GDP / national debt ratio thus making our debt seem less dramatic. If government was interested in a more honest reflection on economic growth they could back bankruptcies out of the GDP as lost assets, fact is many debts are not getting paid down or off but simply being written off.
