The Fed (and any other central bank) can crank up the presses to do pretty much whatever they want to any level they want so it would really skew the GDP numbers if they were included. It seems that Japan's well documented experience with Quantitative Easing is just plain being ignored!<br /><br />I still personally believe that we are being "over-sold" the risks of deflation in an attempt by the G8 governments to monetize the debt!<br /><br />The G8 is digging itself further and further into debt.
