Anthony Fauci, Motivational Speaker - Cashing in on the COVID-19 Pandemic

The main public face of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in the United States, was this man who made untold hundreds of public appearances on the mainstream media over the past three years:

 

 

Anthony Fauci was the highest paid public servant in the United States, earning $456,028 in 2021 as shown on this table from Federal Pay:

 

This compares to $400,000 for the President of the United States (plus additional perquisites including a $50,000 annual expense account) as quoted here from 3 USC 102:

  

§102. Compensation of the President

The President shall receive in full for his services during the term for which he shall have been elected compensation in the aggregate amount of $400,000 a year, to be paid monthly, and in addition an expense allowance of $50,000 to assist in defraying expenses relating to or resulting from the discharge of his official duties. Any unused amount of such expense allowance shall revert to the Treasury pursuant to section 1552 of title 31, United States Code. No amount of such expense allowance shall be included in the gross income of the President. He shall be entitled also to the use of the furniture and other effects belonging to the United States and kept in the Executive Residence at the White House.

The report by OpenTheBooks also notes that Four-star generals make $178,000 per year. Speaker Nancy Pelosi earns $223,500, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts will make $286,700 this year, and members of the House of Representatives and Senators make $193,400.

 

Now that Fauci has "retired", let's look at what he's been up to.  Prior to his retirement, he had mused that he would continue to "work", particularly in the public speaking arena.  Let's take a look at his page on the Leading Motivational Speakers website:

 

 

Isn't that interesting?  His page would seem to be AWOL.  Even Google is in on the game, providing searchers with this when a query "Fauci retirement speaking" is invoked:

Unfortunately for Leading Motivational Speakers and Anthony Fauci, the internet never forgets.  It would seem that these people are unaware of Archive.org, wouldn't it.  Fortunately, for all of us, the webpage was saved here:

 

So, for a mere $50,000 to $100,000, the formerly highest paid public servant in America will come to your event and provide you with his views on motivation and healthcare.  And, for a mere 30 to 60 minutes of "work" he could make up to one-quarter of his annual salary.  Pretty sweet deal!

 

There's nothing like profiting from a pandemic, is there?  Certainly Fauci did have some media exposure over his lengthy career, however, his media presence over the past three years dwarfed his media presence over the prior nearly four decade period and he believes that his musings are now worth roughly what a median American household earns in a year.
