The 2024 Democratic Party Platform - Is Joe Biden Still in the Race?

With the Democrats releasing their 2024 election platform after the "coup"that removed Joe Biden from the race for the White House and replacing him with a candidate that the mainstream media has barely noticed over the past four years:

...it's an interesting exercise to look at certain details found in the now approved 2024 platform (archived here) which was compiled in July and released on Sunday August 18th, 2024.

First, although Joe Biden has been out of the race since July 21, 2024 and the Democratic Party has had a month to change their platform, references to a second Biden term appear scattered throughout the platform as shown in the following examples with my bolds throughout:

a.) page 2 - President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats are running to finish the job. To grow our economy from the middle out and bottom up, not the top down. To reward work, not wealth. To lower costs. To tackle the climate crisis, lower energy costs, and secure energy independence. To protect communities and tackle the scourge of gun violence. To secure the border and fix the broken immigration system. To advance the President’s Unity Agenda. To strengthen American leadership worldwide.

b.) page 11 - Thanks to President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Minority Business Development Agency is now a permanent part of the Commerce Department, where it’s training underserved entrepreneurs. The SBA’s innovative Community Navigators program meanwhile helped 350,000 small businesses tap into resources that have helped them grow. In a second Biden term, we’ll make that Navigator program permanent, and include new lenders, new markets, and fairer taxes.

c.) page 16 - refers to a second Biden term less directly - Corporations are seeing record margins, but their share of federal taxes has fallen below 10 percent, down from 30 percent in the 1950s. It’s wrong. Trump doesn’t care: he slashed the corporate tax rate to 21 percent, down from 35 percent. President Biden will raise that rate back to 28 percent. And for those billion-dollar tax dodgers, the President signed a historic 15 percent corporate minimum tax into law. He also reached a global minimum tax agreement with 140 countries, so that big multinational companies will no longer be able to pit nations against one another in a race to the bottom. And, Biden will double the tax rate that American multinationals pay on foreign earnings to 21 percent; and end incentives, introduced by Trump, that encourage companies to shift jobs and operations overseas and book profits in low-tax countries.

d.) page 22 - refers to a second Biden term less directly - When the pandemic crushed supply chains, prices for everyday items, from food to gas to airfare, went up. But after supply bottlenecks eased, many companies didn’t lower prices in line with their falling costs. President Biden will keep calling those companies out for price gouging, and hold them accountable when they don’t pass savings on to consumers.

e.) page 46 - President Biden will continue to appoint justices and judges across the federal bench who are like Justice Jackson: brilliant jurists committed to defending American rights and freedoms.

f.) page 47 - In President Biden’s second term, he will continue selecting judges who will protect fundamental rights and who represent the diversity of the American experience. We will push for a Supreme Court that follows the rule of law, protects people's freedoms, and abides by the highest ethical standards.

g.) page 50 - President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats are committed to restoring the reproductive rights Trump ripped away. With a Democratic Congress, we will pass national legislation to make Roe the law of the land again. We will strengthen access to contraception so every woman who needs it is able to get and afford it. We will protect a woman’s right to access IVF. We will repeal the Hyde Amendment. And in his second term, President Biden will continue to support access to FDA-approved medication abortion, appoint leaders at the FDA who respect science, and appoint judges who uphold fundamental freedoms.

h.) page 65 - In President Biden’s second term, he will push Congress to pass legislation that is consistent with our values as a nation. Legislation must secure the border, reform the asylum system, expand legal immigration; and keep families together by supporting a pathway for long-term undocumented individuals, improving the work authorization process, and securing the future of the DACA program.

i.) page 66 - In President Biden's second term, he will push Congress to provide the resources and authorities that we need to secure the border. This includes additional border patrol agents, immigration judges, asylum officers, cutting-edge inspection machines to help detect and stop the flow of fentanyl, and funding for cities and states that are sheltering migrants.

j.) page 68 - In his second term, President Biden will work with Congress to deploy more cutting-edge inspection machines to help detect fentanyl at our ports of entry. He will also leverage all resources of the federal government to stop tech platforms from being used for criminal conduct, including sales of dangerous drugs like fentanyl.

k.) page 74 - During President Biden’s second term, Democrats will continue to advocate for the safe and secure development of AI. We will invest in the AI Safety Institute to create guidelines, tools, benchmarks, and best practices for evaluating dangerous capabilities and mitigating AI risk. We will also prioritize funding for critical AI research and development that advances AI safety.

l.) page 75 - With a second term in office, President Biden will continue to work to prevent cancer, detect it early, deliver innovation, care for families facing cancer, and, ultimately, end cancer as we know it.

m.) page 80 - In his second term, President Biden will continue to promote a free, open, connected, prosperous, secure, and resilient Indo-Pacific. He will deepen economic engagement to drive inclusive growth. He will champion human rights. And he will continue to strengthen our traditional alliances and broaden regional partnerships to bolster deterrence and resist coercion.

n.) page 81 - In his second term, President Biden will remain focused on actions at home and abroad to outcompete China. He will continue to stand up to unfair economic practices, restrict the PRC’s access to advanced technologies that could be used to harm American interests, and reshore supply chains for materials and technologies critical for the 21st century.

o.) page 90 - President Biden has never and will never turn his back on our military. In his second term, he will continue to invest in upgrading to next-generation weapon systems, cutting-edge training opportunities, and deterrence capabilities such as our submarine force and the nuclear triad.

In case you were wondering, Biden appears 287 times in the Democrats 2024 election platform document, compared to the current presidential candidate Kamala Harris whose name appears only 32 times.  Even Donald Trump appears more often than Harris with 150 mentions of his name.

In my opinion and given that the Democrats had nearly a month to edit their platform of any mention of a Biden second term in office, this would suggest that the Democrat Party leadership are a pretty lazy bunch who appear to be taking a 2024 election win and the support of Democratic voters for granted.

100 Days of War in Gaza - Who is Really Suffering?

This statement was released from the Biden White House on January 14, 2024:

Joe Biden (or whoever it is that is speaking on his behalf) conveniently seems to have forgotten these aspects of life in Gaza:

1.)

2.)

3.)

4.)

and, most importantly:

5.)

While I am loathe to trust any medical journal after the COVID-19 pandemic, here's what the Lancet has to say about the possibility of inflated mortality reporting from the Gaza Ministry of Health, something that the Israelis have accused Hamas of doing (with my bold):

"Using publicly available information, we compared the Gaza MoH's mortality reports with a separate source of mortality reporting and found no evidence of inflated rates. We conducted a temporal analysis of cumulative-reported mortality within Gaza for deaths of Gazans as reported by the MoH and reported staff member deaths from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), from Oct 7 to Nov 10, 2023. These two data sources used independent methods of mortality verification, enabling assessment of reporting consistency.  We observed similar daily trends, indicating temporal consistency in response to bombing events

Mortality reporting is difficult to conduct in ongoing conflicts. Initial news reports might be imprecise, and subsequent verified reports might undercount deaths that are not recorded by hospitals or morgues, such as persons buried under rubble. However, difficulties obtaining accurate mortality figures should not be interpreted as intentionally misreported data.

Although valid mortality counts are important, the situation in Gaza is severe, with high levels of civilian harm and extremely restricted access to aid. Efforts to dispute mortality reporting should not distract from the humanitarian imperative to save civilian lives by ensuring appropriate medical supplies, food, water, and fuel are provided immediately."

But, then again, residents of Gaza haven't the capacity that their pro-Israel counterparts possess as shown here:

...and here:

Washington is for sale and Israel is in a buying mood which just might be part of the reason why the Biden Administration has not pressured the Netanyahu war cabinet into shutting down its brutal operation in Gaza.

Monica Bertagnolli - The Links Between the Nominee for Director of the NIH and Big Pharma

Joe Biden's newly nominated candidate for Director of the National Institutes for Health (NIH), Monica Marie Bertagnolli:

...has a very cozy relationship with one of America's largest pharmaceutical companies and a strong connection to the President as you will soon see.

As background, Dr. Bertagnolli was also appointed as Director of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) by the Biden Administration on October 3, 2022, one of 20 Institutes that make up the National Institutes of Health as shown here:

NCI is the federal government's principal agency for cancer research as part of the National Institutes of Health.

Let's look at Dr. Bertagnolli's connection to Big Pharma.  Thanks to Open Payments Data, an official website of the U.S. government, we know which companies have funded Bertagnolli's research.

Here's her payment summary for 2021, the latest year for which data is available:

Associated research funding is provided to research a project of study where the physician named is the principal investigator, in this case, Dr. Bertagnolli.

Here is a graph and table showing Dr. Bertagnolli's associated research funding back to 2015:

Here are the top companies making associated research funding to Dr. Bertagnolli in 2021:

As you can see, in 2021, Pfizer was responsible for funding 72.1 percent of research in where Dr. Bertagnolli was the lead researcher.

Here's the same data for 2020:

...and 2019:

In closing and because Joe Biden really doesn't care what the serf class thinks of his potential appointment of Dr. Bertagnolli, here's a sampling of what appeared on the White House website on May 16th, touting the views of her peers on her nomination:

This is yet another fine example of "agency capture".  While it is not corruption per se, it's pretty clear that there are close links between Dr. Bertagnolli's research and Pfizer.  One has to wonder whether she will be able to be impartial when dealing with Pfizer (and other Big Pharma companies) as director of the National Institutes for Health given that Pfizer has funded a very significant part of her research.

But, then again, if there's anything that the last three years have taught us it's that health care in America is rife with conflicts of interest and has very little to do with actually improving our health.

The Biden Administration's COVID-19 Vaccine Promotion Campaign

Thanks to a lawsuit by Judicial Watch, the Department of Health and Human Services was forced to release documents revealing the Biden Administration's campaign to convince the American public to accept the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

Here is the Judicial Watch announcement:

Judicial Watch's Freedom of Information Act lawsuit requested the following:

1.) All records regarding the Department of Health and Human Services’ “COVID-19 Community Corps” program, which was announced by the department on April 1, 2021. This request includes the following:

2.) All records depicting the application process and selection criteria for organizations participating in the program.

3.) All records related to the consideration of any organization considered for participation in the program that were not selected.

4.) All records concerning any awarded or proposed related grants or contracts with any organization participating in the program.

5.) All related records of communication between any representative of the Department of Health and Human Services and any representative of any organization participating in the program.

In case you haven't heard of the COVID-19 Community Corps (also known as "We Can Do This"), it was described as following on the HHS COVID Comment Corps website:

...and here:

"The Corps, launched in April 2021, has nearly 17,000 members, including individuals and organizations big and small, in communities all around the country. We’re growing every day as vaccinating as many people as possible becomes even more critical to our nation’s health, communities, and economy."

Members included the following (among others):

Let's look at one of the more interesting documents that was released by HHS.  This document outlines the roadmap for the Public Education Campaign (PEC) Plan dated: April 19th to May 31, 2021 and the major projects to be undertaken:

Notice that the campaign involved the following components and players:

1.) Share the Mic program with Michelle Obama, Kerry Washington and Eva Longoria

2.) Press events on BBC News, iHeartRadio, NPR

3.) Late night hosts vaccination video

4.) State of the Pandemic YouTube Town Hall

5.) Round-table with national radio broadcast - hosted by Kamal Harris including Steve Harvey, DL Hughley, Charlamagne Tha God

6.) Oprah OWN Townhall with Dr. Fauci

7.) Proposed Share the Mic with President Obama

8.) Launch Hollywood Comedy writers video content

9.) Create a TikTok #PassTheMic campaign with major influencers to begin the series

10.)  Create custom partnerships with social media platforms with algorithms to hit this audience

11.) Work with YouTube on an original series about vaccinations targeted to younger people

12.) Dr. Biden and Dr. Walensky to host a Kids Blogger Roundtable to answer kids' questions about the pandemic and the vaccine

13.) Work with Instagram to produce a series about vaccines for @Instagram.  Feature young creators doing in-depth pieces about young people's questions

14.) Request a vaccination special on Christian Broadcast Network featuring Evangelical leaders

15.) Request that the major live TV entertainment show feature hosts being vaccinated on air

16.) Place a trusted messenger on the Joe Rogan Show and Barstool Sports to promote vaccination (work with outside experts to identify who will be the most effective)

17.) Request a co-branded "We Can Do This" effort with Walmart for videos and info sources for in-store screens, point of purchase displays and info in the pharmacies.

18.) Work with NFL, NASCAR, MLB and CMA to request that they create content with their talent and release through their broadcast and social channels.

19.) Partner with Disneyland Parks for vaccination events when the amusement parks reopen.

20.) Work with the Hollywood Guilds (i.e. Writers Guild, Directors Guild) to work vaccination messaging into scripted and reality TV shows.

Given this information on how the Biden Administration was proposing to handle its single-minded approach to solving the pandemic, is it any wonder that some of us felt totally overwhelmed with the amount of COVID-19 vaccination information that was inundating every aspect of our lives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

Let's close with this:

"1.) Propaganda must be planned and executed by only one authority.

It must issue all the propaganda directives.

It must explain propaganda directives to important officials and maintain their morale.

It must oversee other agencies' activities which have propaganda consequences.

2.) To be perceived, propaganda must evoke the interest of an audience and must be transmitted through an attention-getting medium.

3.) Propaganda may be facilitated by leaders with prestige.

4.) Propaganda must be carefully timed.

5.) The communication must reach the audience ahead of competing propaganda.

6.) A propaganda campaign must begin at the optimum moment.

7.) A propaganda theme must be repeated, but not beyond some point of diminishing effectiveness.

8.) Propaganda must label events and people with distinctive phrases or slogans. (think antivaxxers as an example)

They must evoke responses which the audience previously possesses.

They must be capable of being easily learned.

They must be utilized again and again, but only in appropriate situations.

They must be boomerang-proof.

All of these are quotes from a diary found after the end of World War II.  The diary happened to have been the property of Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Adolph Hitler's Propaganda Minister.

Joe Biden and Climate Hypocrisy

Let's open this posting by looking at two of Joe Biden's recent tweets from July 22, 2022:

...and this one on July 23, 2022:

...and this one on July 24, 2022:

...and this one on July 25, 2022:

Just in case you missed it (just like the overpaid and incompetent White House staffers whose hands the poster passed through), you'll notice that the average American driver will spend $35 less per month for one "peson", whatever a "peson" is.

....and this one on July 26, 2022:

Well, from Biden's limited perspective, he has to believe that the recent drop in the price of gasoline has to be reassuring to motorists/voters who can now afford to consume more of the precious elixir.

On July 23, 2022, right in the middle of the tweets about dropping gasoline prices, the world was the beneficiary of these tweets:

....and, most importantly, this one:

So, apparently, you can have your cake and eat it too when it comes to lower gas prices (which lead to higher consumption) and battling the climate change "emergency" when you live in Bidenland.  One might almost think that the current Democratic administration is irony impaired.

The last tweet is a tad threatening.  When you search "Joe Biden climate emergency" on Google, here are some of the results:

Do you think that it is possible that we are being softened up for a climate lockdown where Washington (and for that matter other governments around the world) use their newfound powers of tyranny to lock us down just as they did during the "health emergency" of the past two years?

If we are experiencing such a significant climate emergency, we must ask ourselves why are the ruling class members still gadding about the globe using their government-provided, taxpayer-funded jets for meetings that are completely unnecessary and that accomplish absolutely nothing?  Apparently, there are no hypocrites like elected hypocrites who stage themselves on both sides of an issue, is there?
